As of today, Kim Kardashian has filed for divorce from husband of 72 days Kris Humphries. Not a full month has gone by since Kardashian was all a twitter with excitement over the E! special of their August wedding. "Irreconcilable differences" is the reason listed and online reports say the couple had a prenup and no spousal support will be offered. Considering the couple's entire life is public, be sure the next season of Keeping up with the Kardarshians will reveal all the details. Gotta stay relevant right?
It seems marriages, babies and divorces are a fad in Hollywood. All about the glitz, glamour and millions of dollars in the Kardashian's case. Social media lit fire at the news of the divorce, as if the public opinion matters, but still everyone had something to say including the Twitter trending topic: #thingslongerthanKimswedding. Some called it a good business investment for all involved parties, others were enraged at the disregard for the sanctity of marriage. What are your thoughts? Would you marry someone you've known less than a year? Would you give the marriage time to develop? Tell me what's on your radar. Well wishes to both Kim
and Kris.

Weekend Radar....
Let's see what stories made our Radar over the weekend:
SWAC: The Alabama A&M Bulldogs brought home a win over the Alabama State Hornets at the 70th Annual Magic City Classic in Birmingham, AL 20-19! A&M's, Kaderius Lacey, was named Offensive MVP. Congratulations Bulldogs!

MLB: The St Louis Cardinals win the World Series, beating Texas Rangers 6-2 in Game 7. I don't know who all caught the jaw- dropping end of of Game 6 that ended with David Freese's shirt being ripped off by his teammates after his incredible walk-off home run; but this was a series worth watching. This win gives the Cards their 11th World Series championship. Congratulations!
Politics:Republican presidential candidate, Hermain Cain, stopped in Huntsville as apart of his 2 day campaign trail in Alabama. Cain met with the Alabama Federation of Republican Women and spoke on issues such as his 999 Tax Reform Plan which includes: a 9% Flat Rate Income Tax, a 9% Business Value Added Tax and a 9% National Sales Tax. Cain has gained some ground in the polls being called the 'unconventional candidate', but he has a long way to go as controvery keeps surrounding him. Would you vote for Cain?
Occupy Movement: What started in New York, has moved all across the nation as the Occupy Movement strengthens in numbers. Austin, Boston, Dallas, Nashville and Huntsville are just a few more cities added to the campaign, and the movement has even gone global to Africa. The 99% is not giving up anytime soon. Learn more about the cause and get involved: http://www.occupytogether.org/
So much news and and this was only the weekend. Stay on the radar as we bring your more news from all over.

"Pay As You Earn" Education News
Considering my loan repayment papers just arrived in the mail with a start day promptly six months after my graduation date, I applaud President Obama for his newest efforts in education. As a part of his Economic Relief Plan, the president spoke in front of college students in Denver, Colorado on Wednesday to speak on a new program designed to help college graduates reasonably manage student loan dept. Per reports, the average student loan dept for a college graduate is $24,000 as of 2009. I can tell you that number is significantly higher now as the cost of attending college increases every year. One aspect of President Obama’s new plan encourages students to consolidate student loans (given they have 2 or more federal loans) to receive a lower interest rate on repayment. The interest rate break would be 0.5%. This new plan would also reduce the repayment from 25 to 20 years with the payment amount being reduced to only 10% of earnings compared to the previous 15%. Another aspect of this new proposed plan is that after 20 years the total dept has not been paid, the debt will be relieved. This is not to say we are allowed to not make payments. This plan is set to take effect in 2014.

| Graduation Day |
With college costs rising every year along with unemployment rates doing the same, it is past time for our government to realize that if a new college graduate has not found a career to support the student loans they have, it is almost impossible for them to repay under the current terms and still support themselves. As a recent college graduate, I want my degree to mean something, and I don’t want it to mean that I am just another statistic of a struggling and diminishing middle class that went to college to make a better life for myself and now can’t because I am literally paying my life away. What are your thoughts on the current economic situation and what President Obama is proposing? Get on the Radar.

David Banner Calls for Support in Black Culture
I don't know how many of you caught BET's 106 and Park on this past Thursday when rapper and producer David Banner dropped by to release his new video for the song "Swag"; but he had a lot to say about the state of the black culture, hip hop music, rappers and current world issues. Check out the interview:
As we watched Banner’s statements, the screen froze, then went black, as if there was an outage at the BET network. When the show resumed, without Banner, there was no mention of the outage (which most major networks would at least briefly mention or apologize). Many viewers took to Twitter and Facebook to vent, and the consensus seems to be that BET intentionally cut Banner's statement. That question still remains unanswered, but what about the statements Banner made; do you agree? Is 'black culture' diminishing because of the the lack of support within our own community? Due to the diminishing middle class (non existent as Banner sees it) have we lost what and who we are as a black culture? What are your thoughts?

NBA First 2 Weeks CANCELLED
November 1st will not be the start of the 2011 NBA season. Looks like the NBA is following in the footsteps of the NFL as news about the lockout has broken. Reports hit at 10:01ET that NBA Commissioner, David Stern, cancelled the first two weeks of the season after hours of meetings between the owners and players failed to reach a new labor deal for the upcoming season. November 14th is how long this initial cancellation will affect the players, owners, workers and of course the fans. The lockout began July 1 as owners and players failed to reach an agreement before the expiration of the old CBA. You can read full details on Sports Illustrated:

Apple Founder Dead at 56
Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple, passed today at age 56. Everyone will agree that his innovation of the iPod, iPhone and the iPad has changed the digital era forever. At the young age of 21, Jobs and two other men launched Apple Computer Inc. Jobs recently stepped down as CEO of Apple in August due to his failing health.
Current Apple CEO, Tim Cook, expressed his condolences with employees of Apple in a memo: Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Rival, Bill Gates(Microsoft), also expressed his feelings over Jobs' passing: The world rarely sees someone who has had the profound impact Steve has had, the effects of which will be felt for many generations to come.
Jobs will truly be missed and our condolences go out to his family during this time.
